Community Gathering

The Taos Community of Love Community Gathering takes place every Sunday in person and on Zoom from 10:00-11:30am MST. Our gathering begins with inspiring music performed by our talented music director, followed by announcements, a meditation, and a short reading. The gathering then features an inspiring message from a guest speaker, a group discussion on a topic, or a concert provided by guest musicians. Afterward, light refreshments are provided so that you can have some coffee and spend time in conversation with others in the community. We look forward to having you with us!

Speaking at Taos Community of Love this Week
July 27th, 2025

Rose Gordon

Listening to the Land: Connection, Cooperation and Collaboration

The natural world is filled with examples of resilience, restoration and ways to both survive and thrive. The beings around us sing their own song and offer their own medicine. Living in Taos for 50 years, Rose's awareness of ways to respond to harsher conditions of all kinds has been shaped by noticing how the pinon, cedar juniper and sage strengthened their connection to life. Using stories from the land, we’ll consider how we might face into change with sustainable energy.

Rose has a degree in Hospice & Grief Counseling and was Director and faculty member for the Being with Dying Project at Upaya Zen Center. She'll soon be ordained as a Buddhist Chaplin. Rose is the Hospice Spiritual Care and Bereavement Provider for Mountain Home Healthcare and trains their hospice volunteers. Her article, “Grief and the Depth of Your Love” was published in Minding Nature. Her next local in-person retreat, called “Drinking from the Well that Sustains Us,” is being planned for late this summer or early fall. Website: www.circlesofcompassionatecare.com
